DA awesome company, great service

My original DA50 that I've been flying for over two years, and I bought used from a JR sponsored pilot started making a ticking noise. Many of you have heard this. I have been reluctant to fly it much lately because of the noise. I finally found the time to pull it out of my yak and sent it to DA for inspection.

DA called me today and told me there had been a bearring upgrade a couple years ago and this engine had never had any service so this engine missed the upgrade. I said okay, what now?

Oh, it is going out today repaired. We put in a new crank, piston, ring, wrist pin, connecting rod, bearrings, and all new seals and cleaned the carb. I asked; okay what is the cost? DA replied; nothing... nothing? I said how much for the shipping, the reply was nothing, we will take care of everything. WOW!!!!

Very hard to beat a company like this.... If I build another large gasser it will have DA power, I'm sold!

Sometimes simple things can seem difficult to solve and the they can impossible to deal with without company assistance. My DA stopped running on my 450 edge4. Seemed liked it was a carb issue. With Darrell's assistance I replaced the diaphram and cleaned the filter in the carb. No change. Then it appeared to be the ignition. No spark. I figured that I would have to send it back to DA and stated taking things apart. As I pulled the wires loose, I discovered that one of the connections was broken. A little solder and all was well in DA world. Anyway - most time major components don't fail. It is usually something minor that a little trouble shooting can solve.
